About the Band

It all begins with an idea and a passion for The Jerry Garcia Band. 

Reuben’s Painted Mandolin is an ongoing project started by Eric “Pappy” Weingrad and is constantly evolving. Pappy is a member of theCAUSE, a Pittsburgh Jamband devoted to the music of the Grateful Dead, as well as other assorted psychedelia and original music. Pittsburgh is filled with amazing musicians and Pappy has enlisted some of the finest that all enjoy playing this music. It has been said the Grateful Dead was the circus and Jerry Garcia Band was church. Reuben’s Painted Mandolin delivers the dynamics, the feel and the vibe as well as anyone out there. There are so many wonderful bands playing this music.  RPM is an experience in the journey of the music of the Jerry Garcia Band.
